James Lambden, Inventor

Born in San Mateo, California, James moved to Wellington, New Zealand at the age of 3 and Sydney, Australia at the age of 5,  Guelph, Ontario, Canada at the age of 10 and Santa Barbara, California in 1999.     James learned early a love of travelling and the ocean.

James is committed to reducing pollution and global warming.    His inventions reduce fossil fuel consumption by increasing efficiency.     By utilizing natural energies like solar, wind and hydro power,  some of his inventions completely eliminate the use of fossil fuels.   One particular example is his solar powered toolboat.  This boat has been energy independent for 4 years, while at the same time, is easier to use, with better handling characteristics than a traditional outboard powered boat.

James' sailboat, Kapowai, a Catalina 30, is all-electric with no fossil fuels on board.   Wind, hydro and plans for solar allow this boat to cruise the Santa Barbara Channel islands in quite, pollution-free style.

An avid mountain-biker and hiker, James' hobbies keep him in the great outdoors.
